The Hotel has undergone several Management changes and was actually not very lucky in establishing itself as a marked leader and when new hotels started coming up in Bungoma Town, it found itself elbowed to the periphery and it ended up closing.

In the meantime, unfortunately, the teachers did not benefit anything from their investment. The leadership of BUTICO was forced to look for a strategic partner and that is when they found Bonito Hotels Ltd in 2014 who agreed to lease the Hotel and carry out a re-development to include a Swimming Pool, Conference facilities, Private dining room, a Gym, Sauna, Massage, Private rooms, a garden among other facilities. A completely new Night Club (Club Oval) has been put up.

It will be the first time that the teachers will now enjoy their Investment from the proceeds of rent.

The hotel is bringing to Bungoma County unparalleled Catering and dining services that will see the introduction of Vegetarian Cuisine with a completely separate Kitchen for the purpose. It is also introducing Halal cooking for the Muslim Customers whose Kitchen is also separate.
